The Prince Theater Mainstage offers a truly immersive movie-going experience with 7.1 surround sound and the largest conventional cinema screen in Center City for both digital and 35mm presentation.

Film in the Black Box

The Prince Theater Black Box has upgraded to a state of the art digital presentation with 2K laser projection and 7.1 surround sound. Enjoy a first-run film or one of our special programs in casual cabaret-style seating.

Enjoy intimate and casual cabaret style seating with light refreshments and snacks while watching the latest blockbuster film or indie darling. Seating is not reserved, though our ushers will help you find a table that best accommodates your group.

Philly Film Showcase in the Prince Theater Black Box

An exhibition supporting new work by talented up-and-coming local filmmakers of all ages, level, and backgrounds complete with First Friday reception and post-screening Q&As.

Celebrate our talented local filmmakers each month during the Philly Film Showcase. PFS turns the Prince Theater Black Box into a venue for up-and-coming filmmakers of all ages, level, and backgrounds. Following casual pre-screening receptions, local filmmakers have the opportunity to showcase their work in our state-of-the-art theater and elicit audience feedback during post-screening Q&As. Submitting to the program is FREE! We support our local filmmakers enthusiastically and encourage our community to do the same.

Tickets are FREE, though donations to Philly Film Showcase are welcome. Free ticketing program PFS On Us is presented by PNC Arts Alive.

Throwback Thursday Quizzo & Movie in the Prince Theater Black Box

Do you like trivia, nostalgia films, and drink? Then get your friends together to form an awesome Quizzo team (witty squad name required) and put your film and pop culture knowledge to the test at PFS’ monthly Quizzo & Movie!

Every First Thursday of the month, come out to the Prince Theater Black Box for a screening of a crowd-pleasing modern classic preceded by a few rounds Quizzo where all questions are about or inspired by that night’s movie. During the film, we will tally up the scores and reveal the winning team as the credits roll. The first-place team and runners-up will win prizes and bragging rights!
